FMC WECO STYLE HAMMER UNIONS
Hammer unions, also called wing unions, are one of the most common connection types in oil and gas industry as its reliable, heavy-duty, high-pressure for flow lines at drilling sites. They are recommended to be used for manifold line connections, pump suction & mud services, well test piping lines up to 6000psi to run water, oil or mud.

-End Connections: NPT Threaded & Butt welded SCH.80(XH), 160 and XXH
-Working Temperature Range: -29°C to 121°C (Buna-N lip seal ring )
-Sealing Type: Sealing Ring
Safety Notes: Hammer Unions work at extremely high pressures, mismatching components of one series with others (for example, fig.602 with fig.1502) can result in a blowout and cause property damage, serious injury and/or death. Even, not matching the same series from the different manufacturers.

WECO Hammer Union Seals
Lip type seal ring is an elastomer component, as a secondary seal to protect metal-to-metal against corrosion, which minimizes fluid flow turbulence while creating a pressure seal. Depending on the union figure it can be a lip type “seal ring” or an “O-ring”. Different material s are available to suit for different fluid service. Buna-N (NBR) is common for standard service, Viton (FKM) for H2S service.
